Will a Scratch Fix Pen Fix Any Scratch?

The easiest way to decide is to look closely at the damaged area.

If you can see lighter raw timber underneath the scratch, the pen can help add colour back into the damaged area and make it less noticeable.

If the scratch is only in the clear lacquer or topcoat and has not exposed the timber underneath, a coloured Scratch Fix Pen may not improve it.

Scratch Fix Pens Colour – They Don’t Fill

Scratch Fix Pens are colouring products, not fillers.

If a scratch, dent or gouge is deep enough to leave a noticeable indentation, you may also need a suitable timber filler, repair wax or another filling product.

For shallow scratches where raw timber is showing, the pen may be all that is required to improve the appearance.
